Mason Plumlee: The Spurs’ Newest Veteran Addition

Well, well, well! The San Antonio Spurs have just made a surprise move that has everyone buzzing. They officially signed veteran big man Mason Plumlee to a contract that will keep him with the team all the way through the end of the season. This decision comes after Plumlee wrapped up a brief 10-day stint with the team where, believe it or not, he didn’t get a chance to step on the court even once!

Now, at almost 36 years of age, Plumlee is more of a locker room presence than a game-changer on the hardwood. You see, our friend Mason is currently taking a breather and staying off the court to work on getting back into game shape. So far this season, he’s only made a measly 14 appearances with the Charlotte Hornets and has been MIA from the game since December 22nd. Yikes!

In terms of stats, he’s been averaging just 2 points and 3 rebounds per game. That’s, um, not exactly a highlight reel performance, but hey, there’s more to basketball than just points, right? And since he’s signing for the veteran minimum, which is above $3.5 million, it’s safe to say he’s still got a place in the league!

So, Spurs fans, while we wait to see if Mason can shake off the cobwebs and hit the court, let’s give him a warm welcome (from the bench, at least) and see how this veteran presence pans out!
