LeBron James Becomes First Player to Hit 16,000 Field Goals

It’s another day, another record for the King! LeBron James has just made history once again, and honestly, it feels like he’s breaking milestones every month at this point in his legendary career. Whether it’s a longevity record or a jaw-dropping performance you didn’t think was possible at his age, LeBron is consistently reminding us why he’s one of the greatest to ever play the game.

In the early hours this morning, during the 76ers’ hard-fought 112-106 victory over Detroit, LeBron became the first player in NBA history to reach 16,000 field goals made in the regular season. Seriously, just stop and think about that for a moment! This is a number that seemed almost unfathomable not too long ago. Yet, here we are, witnessing yet another incredible achievement as he continues to redefine what’s possible on the basketball court.

Just two baskets shy of the milestone, LeBron got to work quickly, showcasing his trademark skill set by nailing a layup over John Collins right as the second quarter kicked off. What a way to add another accolade to his already staggering collection!

A Historic Journey

Now, you’d expect someone who has been the all-time leading scorer for over three years to also not only excel in points but also in field goals made. Surprisingly, this milestone was a tough one for him to reach compared to others. Thanks to his three-point shooting, LeBron surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record without needing as many field goals as his predecessor. It’s worth noting that it wasn’t until March of this year that LeBron finally broke the previous mark of 15,837 field goals made by the legendary center during his storied two-decade career.

While Kareem’s field goal tally has remained stagnant since his retirement, LeBron’s numbers keep climbing. Both of them are not just the only players to reach the 15,000 mark, but they also stand alone at 14,000, creating some serious separation from the rest of the competition. And now, as LeBron continues to build on his historic stat line, he’s carving out an even larger gap between him and everyone else, solidifying his place atop the league in numerous statistical categories.

So, hats off to LeBron James for adding yet another feather to his already brimming cap! The King shows no signs of slowing down, and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next.
