Fast forward to his first day – he walks in during lunch, thinking he’s dodged the toughest practice of his life. But Dusko had other plans. “Simone, go do your physical tests; we’ll start practice slightly later at 4 PM and push it to 6 PM.” What a welcome party, huh?

Time to make up for those lazy days!” Yup, a date with the physical coach awaited him for a nice little jog. Just what every hardworking athlete dreams of!

Last year, Spoelstra from the Miami Heat, known for his notoriously intense training camps, tossed a question at Fontecchio: “Is this the toughest camp you’ve ever attended?” Fontecchio chuckled and said, “If it makes you feel better, call it a tough one, but compared to everything I’ve faced, this ain’t it!”
