Dylan Ennis’s Heartfelt Goodbye as He Faces Season-Ending Surgery with UCAM Murcia
Dylan Ennis’s Tough News
Hey basketball lovers! Grab your tissues because our very own Dylan Ennis just dropped a bombshell. The Canadian firecracker has announced that he’s going to sit out the rest of the UCAM Murcia season. Yep, you heard it right! Surgery is on the table for his left wrist, and he’s not going to be donning that UCAM jersey for the rest of the 2025/26 season.
A Letter to the Fans
In a heartfelt letter posted on his social media, Dylan poured out his feelings to the Murcia fans. He said, “Familia UCAM, it hurts me to say that I’m going to miss the rest of the season.” Come on, pass the ice cream already!
The Injury Saga
Dylan detailed that a few months back, after an MRI scan, it turned out he had a broken bone in his left wrist. Ouch! To add insult to injury, he also had a nasty case of inflammation in his right wrist that just wouldn’t quit without some proper rest. And let me tell you, with the historical streak the team has been on, the thought of sitting out was a punch to the gut!
The docs and the club recommended surgery as the way to go, but there was also an option to play through the pain. So, naturally, Dylan went for the heroic move! For three months, he relied on painkillers, injections, and put a whole new spin on his training routine just to be on the court with his pals.
The Hard Decision
But as time passed, the pain got unbearable—both physically and mentally. Knowing he wasn’t able to be the player he wanted to be for his team wore him down. Ultimately, it was a brutal choice, but one he had to make.
Thank You, Family and Fans
In his letter, he said, “I want to thank my family, my teammates, the coaching staff, and the club for their unwavering support. They stood by me every step of the way.” Can we just take a moment to appreciate the support squad? They deserve a round of applause!
Dylan continued, “Being on the sidelines is going to sting, but I’ll support the team in every way I can.” This isn’t the end, peeps! It’s just a pit stop on Dylan’s road to recovery. He signed off with, “I leave it all in God’s hands, and I’ll come back stronger.” #VamosMurcia!
UCAM Murcia Moves Forward
In the meantime, UCAM Murcia has brought in Jaylen Hands to cushion the blow from Ennis’s absence. Here’s a rundown of the roster for the remainder of the season:
- DeJulius – Forrest
- Radebaugh – Hands
- Sant-Roos – Raieste – Falk
- Nakic – Martin – López de la Torre
- Cacok – Cate – Diagne
As the team pushes forward, let’s all rally behind them and carry Dylan’s spirit with us!
