Knicks Secure Third Place with a Cozy Win

The New York Knicks had a fun night out, cruising to a solid victory over the Toronto Raptors with a score of 112-95. This win not only gives them bragging rights but also locks in their spot at third place in the Eastern Conference. Now, they might just be seeing those Raptors again in the playoffs!

With Toronto’s loss and Atlanta snagging a victory against Cleveland, the Raptors slipped down to the sixth spot just as the regular season winds down. Still, the playoff picture isn’t completely clear yet, and there are still a lot of scenarios that could play out:

“I have no clue who we’ll face in the playoffs, but we’ve squared off with a lot of these teams four or five times,” said coach Mike Brown, probably scratching his head. “We think we understand what most of these teams are trying to do. And for them, who are a bit busy analyzing us? Yeah, they probably have some ideas too,” he added.

If the Knicks do end up matched against the Raptors, they’re in fine shape—after all, they’ve dominated this season with a perfect record of 4-0 against them, and they haven’t lost to Toronto since 2023, racking up a whopping 13 consecutive wins.

Last night, the Knicks took full advantage of the absences of R.J. Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, strutting to an easy win. They headed into halftime sporting a nice +15 points lead, and throughout the second half, they maintained a comfortable double-digit advantage. Jalen Brunson shone bright, scoring 29 points on 12 of 18 shooting, while Karl Anthony-Towns added in 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.

On the downside, O.G. Anunoby had to leave the game at halftime after rolling his ankle, which is never fun.

“Tonight was a great opportunity to showcase our progress as a team,” Towns remarked, probably feeling pretty good about the W. “There’s definitely room for improvement, but our confidence is soaring right now, and the locker room vibe is top-notch. It feels awesome to head into Sunday with this momentum,” he explained.

The Knicks are currently on a five-game winning streak, with three victories against playoff-bound teams. They’ve also snagged wins in 12 of their last 15 games. In their final regular-season matchup, they’ll host the Hornets, with no pressure since they’re just playing for fun, which means Coach Mike Brown might give some extra burn to his bench players.
