Jeremy Sochan: Grateful for a New Chance with the Knicks

Jeremy’s New Look and Fresh Start

As soon as Jeremy Sochan touched down in New York, he kicked things off by dyeing his hair Knicks blue and orange. And can you blame him? The dude just landed a golden opportunity after parting ways with the Spurs, where he pretty much became the invisible man on the bench.

Feeling the Heat of Opportunity

“Honestly, I just didn’t see any chances for myself there,” he spilled to the NY Post. “The team was jam-packed with talent, and I guess my vibes weren’t matching up with the coach’s vision. His eyes were glazed over whenever I stepped onto the court, like I was a ghost!” Jeremy chuckled, reflecting on his Spurs days.

From Draft Star to Bench Warmer

Sochan, who was the 9th overall pick in the 2022 Draft, was supposed to bring the heat with his offensive skills. But with Mitch Johnson coming on board, things shifted gears, and Jeremy found himself riding the pine until he was completely sidelined.

The Struggles and the Journey

“It was tough, man. I’ve never been that guy just sitting there, twiddling my thumbs in the stands. It’s like stepping into the ‘what am I doing with my life?’ phase. Super stressful!” he admitted.

Ready to Prove Himself

“But hey, I’m from England, where basketball isn’t exactly rocking the world. I know my worth and what I can bring to the party! Luckily, this new team sees that potential too. I’m absolutely stoked to hit reset and show everyone what I can do!” he enthused.

A New Chapter with High Hopes

Per his new coach, Mike Brown, Jeremy’s gonna get a shot before the playoffs, stepping in as a backup power forward. But there’s a catch: young Mo Diawara, who’s been making waves in the NBA, might soon find himself in a pinch for playing time.

Excited for the Big Apple

“I’m beyond pumped! The culture here in New York is huge—it’s a bonkers global melting pot! I can’t wait to grow in this city and with this awesome team!” he wrapped up.
